Kádár László and Szandra

Laci's testimony

I wasn't raised in a religious family, but during my entire childhood and adolescence, I was surrounded by a secure home. God began touching my heart early in life. Now I know that my fear of death and my occasional little prayers were no accidents. When I was 17 I started to believe in God. In my last year of High School, the hymn of love, 1 Corinthians 13, found it's way into my hands (as part of an atheist textbook). Reading it was like opening a window in a dark room. I knew right away that no one would ever love me like this and that I would never be able to love another in this godly way. After graduation I became a soldier. During this time I was broken and humbled. I know now that it was in this way that God prepared my heart for salvation. Soon after this I trusted Jesus Christ, as a result of meeting a young volunteer from Campus Crusade. I understood and trusted Jesus Christ, who died for my sins and rose from the grave. After graduating with a B.El.Ed. from the Budapest College for Teaching, I joined the staff of Wol Hungary, where I am presently leading the camping ministries during the summer months. I had the privilege to study at Dallas Theological Seminary between 2003 and 2007, where I graduated with the ThM (Master of Theology) degree in 2007. I enjoyed my studies a lot, but I enjoy even more passing on to my students what I learned. Of all things I studied my favorite subjects were the Church history related ones. The lessons we can learn from those who run the course before us are very useful for today. I consider it an honor that I can be a full time staff member in a ministry which works with the youth and children of our homeland. I would like for as many as possible to know this truly free life in Christ.

Szandra's testimony

I was raised in a non-Christian home in Croatia. My parents always encouraged me to study because they said that knowledge is the kind of treasure that nobody can take away from me. They were right, but they did not know that that is not the only thing that cannot be taken away from me. In those days they did not know God personally either.
In my teenage years studying took all of my time, and I had to go through some very difficult times. Because of the war we moved from Croatia to Hungary in 1991. I had to get used to a new country with a different culture and a different mentality. To make it even harder, I was finishing my public schooling and we had to choose a high school. The worst thing about all this was that my father did not come to Hungary with us.
God knew all this of course, but I did not know that I could have a fulfilled life in Him. Studying and basketball became first place in my life. In 1993 in a basketball camp I realized that I needed Jesus Christ as in order to be a child of God and to have Him as my heavenly father. The next year I went to Word of Life camp, and I grew a lot in my Christian life.
I started to serve the Lord in 1995, and I have experienced that He is blessing those who are not keeping anything for themselves but giving everything they have to Him. I have lived in Tóalmás since 1997 and after obtaining my masters degree at the University of Eötvös Loránd, in Budapest, I started working as a Hungarian language teacher. Right now I am a full time home maker, and I enjoy it very much. I still love traveling, foreign languages, activities with children and sports. Probably the most important lesson of my Christian life is that God does not forsake His people. I know this from many experiences. One of them is that after 6 years of separation my parents live together again, and my mother is a newborn believer also.

Fanni

My birth was the answer for many years of prayer from our friends in Hungary and abroad. So I was born on Christmas Day, in 2004. I enjoy going to kindergarten, and I took it as a primary responsibility to teach my parents everything I learn there.

Luca

I did not wait much, and arrived within 2 yrs of my older sister on November 4, 2006. Since she is a bit ahead of me, I am doing every possible effort to catch up with her. I have an outgoing and passionate personality that my family mostly enjoys a lot.

Baby #3

...is due on July 4, 2008. We do not know much else about him/her (??), but we are excited that God is about to give us yet another little present. Wow… it is going to be a lot of fun having 3 little ones under four in our home.

Ministry responsibilities:

Laci is the Director of Camping Ministries during the summer months, while in the rest of the year he is a resident Bible teacher in the WOL Hungary Bible School.

Our favorite verse of scripture:

John 13:35
"By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
