Peg Clayton

Name:  Peg Clayton  (email: pclayton@eletszava.org)
Born:    July 26, 1959 in Jacksonville, Illinois

Testimony:

I was born the middle child of five and grew up in a great family. We always attended church and I grew up with an awareness of God and never doubted His existence. I never doubted that God must have created everything around me. Unfortunately, however, it wasn't until I was about 21 years old that I realized that Jesus Christ came to this earth to die for my sins. It was at this time that I realized my eternal destiny wasn't going to be determined by what I did, but it would be determined by what Christ did for me. I saw that God's Word spoke very clearly about my sin and my need for Jesus. At this realization, I placed my faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross to be all sufficient to save me from my sins and a guarantee for me to one day be with Him in heaven.
I got involved in a strong Bible teaching church and learned much about how God wanted me to live my life. As I grew in the Lord He radically changed my goals and values for life.
I taught high school in Indiana for 13 years. In 1994, the Lord began to really challenge me to use my free summers to be involved in something that would make a difference and matter for eternity. As I was praying for and supporting a missionary couple at Elet Szava, God was also growing my interest in missions and the work He was doing in Hungary. In 1995 and 1997, I made two summer missions trips to teach English at the camps in Hungary. At the end of the second trip, I knew that the next step for me was to go to Bible School and learn more so that I could be used more effectively. One year later, I resigned my teaching position and headed for Hungary. After my graduation in 2000, I did a one-year internship with Word of Life in the United State while praying for His direction for full time ministry. It was during that year I was thrilled to receive an invitation to come on staff and join the team in Hungary. The Lord paved the way and I arrived on the field in January of 2003.

Education:

Bachelor of Arts in Education BA 1981
Certificate of Graduation from Central Indiana School of Real Estate 1988
Diploma Élet Szava Bible School in Hungary 2000

Hobbies / interests:

I really enjoy being outside, walking, biking, and golfing (although I have yet to see a golf course in Hungary). I just enjoy being with people and having fun.

Work responsibilities:

Language Coordinator. This involves teaching 4 levels of English at the Bible School and overseeing students in their English outreach ministries. I also have the privilege of coordinating and supporting English work teams for the summer camp. In addition, I am the point person at the Bible School for student activities along with coordinating the Student Missions Committee. I enjoy all of these responsibilities so much because they allow me to be involved in the lives of the Bible School students. It's my desire to have a ministry of discipleship and encouragement to these students from all over the world.

Favorite verse of scripture:

Isaiah 26:3-4
"You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal."
