Bán Attila & Kati
Name: Bán Attila (email: aban@eletszava.org)
Born: April 20, 1973 in Székesfehérvár, Hungary
Testimony:
For my Christian parents it was natural to take my older brother, older sister and myself with them to church every single time it was possible. Since I grew up this way it was natural for me as well to attend Sunday School, memorize Bible verses, attend youth meetings and become a member of the church choir. I enjoyed this Christian fellowship until I started to think about the reason for which I sang to God, memorized Bible verses and had Christian friends. I wanted to live my life the way that I wanted to, so, I took control of my own life when I was 16. I got acquainted with new people, became a glider pilot, and didn’t pay attention to what my parents told me to do any more. But soon I realized that this did not work well. I was 18 when God spoke to me through a close friend and I had to make a decision. I knew that God wanted to forgive my sins and give me eternal life, but this decision also had a price. I had to turn my back to the world and to my own plans. I was crushed in spirit and in a honest prayer I apologized to God. I know for sure that on that night when I received Jesus as my personal Savior I became a child of God.
After being a helper, a counselor and the program director in the Word of Life summer camp I stayed in Tóalmás as a student in the first class of the Bible School that started in September, 1994. During those two years my wife and I were class mates but we didn’t know about God’s will as far as a relationship to develop between the two of us for five years. During my Bible School years I served in my home church as the main leader of the Word of Life Bible Club. In that time Kati was a club leader in the Tóalmás Club.
When one of the missionaries who was also my friend, Daniel Bubar, went home to be with the Lord in May, 1996 I got an invitation from Eric Murphy to continue the work that Dan had started with Bible Clubs. I know I am in the right place in God’s will since I can use my gifts and talents in the best way in this ministry for His glory.
The second greatest gift that I received from God besides salvation is my dear wife, Kati. She was saved from a Catholic background when she was 16. Kati became involved with Word of Life ministries in the same year as I did, in 1992. Kati and I were married on June 9th, 2001. She loves people and loves to be in close friendships with other ladies. She is already a great help for me in the ministry and she proved to be a good wife and a good cook. I am very grateful for her.

Favorite Bible verse:
I don't have a favorite, but I like Psalm 1:1-3.
"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers."
