In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

Warm Christmas Greetings!
Angie and Andris
As Christmas draws near we experience our life getting more hectic. Perhaps we're not the only ones. But we have also felt, possibly more than any other year in our lives, God's arm of love around us and provision for us. Perhaps we are just more aware of Him as we are forced to rely on Him more.

In mid-November we sent out an email with a special prayer request. When Angie found a lump in her breast ultrasounds let to a biopsy with inconclusive results. The doctor was able to confirm that it was benign (but apparently could turn at any time), and they detected some sort of infection. His conclusion was that it needed to be removed. Angie went in for surgery within a week. Al Konya (director of our ministry) and his wife, Pam, woke very early to follow us to the hospital and stayed with us through the operation. We received emails from many and know that many more were praying for us. God kept us in His perfect care and truly gave peace that surpasses understanding.

Two days after Angie's surgery we were driving down to spend a restful weekend with Andris' family. Although Angie was still nursing a fresh incision, we expected that a weekend with her in-laws would do Angie good (it always does... seriously!) We did not, however, take into account the drunk driver who would impact our weekend... literally. By God's grace everyone was able to walk away from the accident, except for our poor car. We had her towed to a shop and we are trying our best to deal with the insurance company. This is when we realize how much we rely on a car... when we are without one. And this is also when we realize how precious life is, and how grateful we are for God's protection in an accident that could have involved serious injury.

Andris and Angie In the Summer of 2003 we bought a plot of land with the hopes of building a house. Recently we have begun efforts to make that dream a reality. A friend recommended an architect from a neighboring town. Experienced, helpful and kind... he gave us great ideas to alter the sketch that we had made. He is drawing a beautiful little house for us. God has truly provided in abundance!

Andris has enjoyed helping the foreign students through the bureaucratic mess of obtaining staying permits. It involves endless trips to Budapest, standing in long lines, filling out confusing forms, and jumping through an array of hoops. It was truly amazing to see barriers fall as one problem after another was solved. The true blessing, however, was forming relationships with the students as they struggled through the process together.

As we prepare for furlough, we look forward to celebrating an early Christmas with Andris' family and then flying to the States on December 22 to spend Christmas with Angie's family. We wish you a peaceful and blessed season as you celebrate the birth of our precious Lord and Savior. May you experience His love now and always.
