Your Trip to Hungary
An important invitation
Your ministry trip to Hungary begins with an invitation, usually one or two years in advance. The Lord has provided us with an incredible number of wonderful relationships with some of the best Bible teachers of this generation. Our guest teachers include pastors, teachers and missionaries who generally have years of experience, and in many cases, those who are are experts in their fields of study.
Despite being a small school in a small country, our guest teacher program allows us to provide our students with a very high level of biblical education. Since opening in 1994, the WOL Hungary Bible Institute has developed a strong reputation not only in Hungary, but internationally as well. As a result, we have been able to establish credit transfer agreements with other well-known conservative evangelical schools (primarily in the U.S.).
Because of these relationships built on the reputation of the school, as well as our commitment to our students, it is very important that our guest teachers do their best to keep their scheduled teaching dates with us. If for some reason you cannot keep a teaching commitment, please contact the Academic Dean or the Director of the Bible Institute at least six months in advance, so that we have time to work on a replacement.
Occasionally, we may check to see about the possibility of switching teaching dates in order to be able to accommodate another potential teacher’s schedule. However, we try to keep this to a minimum. The original teacher and his dates will always have priority if they cannot be easily changed.
In order to help us know our guest teachers as well as possible, we ask that each person take a few minutes to fill out an online background information form online. You can access the form by clicking on the box below (or the one above that is on each page).
A short-terms missions trip
Our philosophy of ministry and Christian education is such that we are committed to the idea that everyone should have the opportunity to study the Word of God for one or two years. One consequence of that decision is that we try to keep our room, board and tuition costs as low as possible. Because of this commitment, we must keep room and board, and tuition prices to a minimum. One of the ways we keep school fees low, is by asking our guest teachers to travel to Hungary as short-term missionaries themselves. Therefore each guest teacher who comes either provides for their own traveling expenses or they are funded by their respective churches or schools or through personal fund-raising efforts. However, we do cover all other expenses for guest teachers and immediate family members which are related to their stay with us.
In the case where a pastor or teacher brings non-family members to observe or to be a part of a work team, we do ask for a donation on their behalf to help offset our expenses related to room and board. These specific amounts (which are subject to change on occasion) are available by sending an email to our Guest Services Department at gs@eletszava.org
Arrival at the Hungary International Airport
Most flights going to Hungary will first go to a major hub in the U.S and then to a major hub in Europe, before a connecting flight to Budapest.
Hungary is serviced by many major airlines and has modern terminal facilities. When you disembark in Hungary you will first pass through passport control and will receive an automatic 90 day tourist visa that will be stamped in your passport. (If you travel a lot, make sure there is room for a total of four stamps before departing the U.S.)
You will then proceed from passport control to the baggage claim area directly beyond. Your flight will be indicated on the monitor for the correct baggage belt.
If any of your bags do not arrive, go directly to the lost baggage area to report it immediately. The address you need to give them is:
WOL Élet Szava
Tóalmás
Kókai u. 2.
2252
Phone: 06-20-775-9068
In most situations your luggage will be delivered by 10 to 11 pm on the same day or frequently, by 10 or 11 the next morning. It seldom takes any long than this to receive your luggage. If you have not received all of your luggage and our reception area is still open, please give your information to the receptionist who will help make sure it arrives in a timely manner.
Meeting your party
If for some reason there is a problem and someone from WOL Hungary is not there to meet you when you arrive, please do not leave this area. If you have submitted an itinerary form you will be on our transportation schedule so there is no need to be worried. It might be that whoever will pick you up has been caught in traffic. After 30 minutes of waiting, you may try calling us at one of these numbers: 06-20-775-9068 (Paul Weaver’s phone number) or 06-20-886-4140 (Deli Zsuzsi’s phone number). If there is a problem we will make sure that your situation is resolved as quickly as possible.
