Currency

The cost for each school year is published in the Hungarian currency (forints or HUF). This means that the actual cost to students paying in other currencies may fluctuate somewhat over the course of a school year. This fluctuation would seldom exceed 5% in either direction during any given 8-month period, although we cannot guarantee this will always be true.

As of Jan, 2010 the exchange rate was approximately 187 HUF per U.S. dollar (USD) and 269 HUF per EURO. As of November, 2009 the exchange rate was approximately 206 HUF per USD and 262 HUF per EURO. This shows how much the exchange rate can change over an 8-month period.

Exchange rates are available on the internet at www.xe.com/ucc. You can look there to see the current exchange rate or to determine approximate cost in your own currency. Please note that the actual exchange rate available in Hungary is generally speaking, 2-3% lower than the rate stated on this website.

Scholarshpis and Discounts

20% Second-Year Discount: Students may continue their studies at our school for 20% less than the cost of the current year. Students who transfer to our school as 2nd-year students from other schools are not eligible for this discount.

Dependents of Missionaries & Christian Workers: Dependents of full-time missionaries and Christian workers are eligible for a 100% discount on tuition if they from Region 3.  Those in the Region 2 receive 10% off the total cost, and those in the Region 1 receive 15% off the total cost.   This discount is available to on-campus students only.

Dependents of WOL International Staff Members: Dependents of Word of Life staff members are eligible for a 100% discount on tuition and a 10% discount off of the base room and board cost.  Dependants of Word of Life staff from Region 2 will receive a 20% discount on room and board.  Dependants of Word of Life Élet Szava staff members receive 25% off the Region 1 financial package.

Multiple Dependents: An additional 5% discount off of the total cost will be given to each additional dependent who attends the Bible School. They do not need to be attending at the same time and it is a cumulative discount. In other words, the 2nd dependent receives a 5% discount, the 3rd receives a 10% discount and so on.

Intern Discount: Students who served as interns with Word Of Life Hungary prior to being a student are eligiable for a discount of up to 30% of the total cost of the students first year.  This discount is pro-rated and the entire amount will be rewarded to those who serve as interns for an entire year.  For those who serve as interns and return for the second year, they will receive a 10% discount in addition to the 20% second year discount.

Recruitment Discount: A 10% discount off the total price is offered to students who recruit others to come to attend the Bible school.  For each person that is recruited, the student who recruits them receives a 10% discount.  This does not apply as a refund for students who have already graduated.

Resident Assistant Discount: Certain students are personally invited by the School’s leaders to serve in a leadership capacity on campus and in the dorm rooms as Resident Assistants. The Resident Assistant  Discount is 20% off the total price from any region.  Also, we have occasionally offered a special discount to qualified students who serve in a role on the Bible school staff.

Marge Wyrtzen Memorial Discount: The Marge Wyrtzen Memorial Discount is given in honor of the first wife of the late founder of Word of Life Fellowship, Jack Wyrtzen. This discount is made available to a limited number of students at our international Bible Institutes who not only have serious financial needs, but who have also demonstrated exemplary and consistent Christian character as observed by the Word of Life staff each year.

General Financial Aid:
Throughout the year various friends of the ministry occasionally provide financial assistance to our students at different times and at various amounts. These funds are distributed on an “as-needed” basis as we receive them. Therefore it is important that all students with need keep updated financial information on file with the Admissions Department.
