TRAINING PROGRAM
This biblical counseling training program endeavors to prepare pastors and church leaders to skillfully use the Word of God to assist their fellow believers and to train others to do the same. Its goals include:
• Strengthening pastors in the conviction that the Bible is sufficient for the ministry of counseling.
• Teaching pastors the operational definition of biblical counseling and methodology for helping people change.
• Training pastors to develop skills and competency in ministering effectively to struggling fellow-believers.
• Teaching pastors to understand and respond biblically to humanistic systems of psychological therapy.
• Equipping pastors to know and interact with current biblical counseling issues and trends.
• Preparing pastors to apply the knowledge and skills gained in the program to establish local church-based biblical counseling centers in and beyond Hungary.
• Preparing pastors to apply the knowledge and skills gained in the program to assist in the initial creation and continuing development of a national biblical counseling training and certifying organization in Hungary.
Obviously, this program is designed especially for pastors, but we are also welcome spiritually mature believers, who consider biblical counseling an important ministry and are interested in it.
