Admissions Requirements


  • Each applicant must be at least 17 years old at the time of application.

  • Each applicant must have successfully completed high school (or have obtained a G.E.D.) in order to be enrolled as a regular student who would be eligible to receive a Word of Life diploma upon graduation. Others will be considered on an individual basis and will be enrolled as auditing students who will receive a certificate of attendance.

  • Each student must give testimony of being a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and indicate a sincere desire to study the Word of God.

  • Each applicant must be in general agreement with the Word of Life Statement of Faith and be willing to receive instruction in areas of disagreement. The applicant must also agree to abide by the Bible Institute Standard of Conduct.

  • Each applicant must be in sufficiently good health to participate in the activities of the school.

  • Each applicant must be fluent in either Hungarian or English. Students who do not speak English as their first language may be sent a proficiency exam that should be completed as quickly possible.

  • Foreign students must possess a valid passport to travel to Hungary and to attend the Bible School. The passport must be valid until at least 6 months after graduation. 

  • Some foreign students will need to contact the Hungarian embassy in their country and obtain a visa before traveling to Hungary. A letter of acceptance from the Bible Institute and an official Invitation Letter from the Hungarian Immigration Office is necessary when applying for this visa. Once you are accepted as a student will apply for the Invitation Letter for you. The Invitation Letter takes a minimum of 4 weeks to receive and the visa can take up to 6 weeks. Therefore, we require all foreign students to apply to our school by June 1st of each year to allow sufficient time for these documents to be obtained. 

  • Students from certain countries may be required to certify their ability to pay for their schooling and personal needs in order for the government to grant permission to stay in Hungary.
